BACOLOD City Representative Anthony Golez, Jr. (lone district) cried foul on spread of the kissing photo and sex video allegedly involving him and former beauty queen Jewel Mae Lobaton.
Golez is married to Princess Soraya Jaafar while Lobaton is married to Senator Koko Pimentel but both couples are facilitating the annulment of their respective marriages.

THE Police Regional Office in Cordillera (Procor) is apprehensive of the New Helmet Law presented by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Procor Director Benjamin Magalong said that Republic Act 10054 or the New Helmet Act of 2009, while protecting citizens from head injuries also covers the identity of the riding-in-tandem gangs.

CEBU CITY -- Four persons, including a Korean national, were arrested for allegedly kidnapping another Korean national and his Filipina live-in partner last Wednesday.
Jun Hyung Chung and live-in partner Charisse Santiago, both of legal age, were allegedly kidnapped by Leonard Bolabon, Gregorio Dealagdon, and Richard Nemenzo Dealagdon from their apartment on Laguerta St., Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, at 11 a.m. last Wednesday.

POLICE and social welfare personnel from Kidapawan City arrested in Davao City on Thursday a 50-year-old New Zealand national accused of molesting two teenage girls.
Superintendent Renante Cabico, chief of the Kidapawan City police, identified the suspect as David William Wakefield, 50, assistant manager of Mecs Labor Hiring Company based in Mozambique in South Africa.

EIGHTEEN people, including eight soldiers, were injured in two separate vehicular accidents in Zamboanga City and nearby province of Basilan.
The police said eight soldiers were injured in a road mishap Friday in the village of Sta. Clara, Lamitan City, Basilan.

MANILA, Philippines—The death toll from tropical storm “Ofel” (international name: Son-Tinh) that swept through the central Philippines before heading toward Vietnam has risen to at least 24 with six people missing, officials said Saturday.
Additional reports of casualties were received by the Office of Civil Defense overnight Friday. Half of the fatalities were drowning victims of floods that hit Visayas and Luzon, the agency reported.

MANILA, Philippines – Two suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with security guards along Park Avenue in Pasay City Saturday, according to a radio report.
The report said one of the guards, who was not identified, heard a woman’s scream.
It said that when the guard saw the suspects trying to grab the woman’s bag and asked them to stop, one of them fired at him.

BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte -- Four persons were killed and two others were injured when a south-bound car they were riding went out of control and crashed into a waiting shed along the national highway in Barangay Tabug Thursday night, the country's risk reduction council said.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported at 10:45 p.m. of Thursday the red Toyota Corolla driven by Fred Oasay, 39, along with five passengers of legal age and residents of Barangay 14, Tartarabang, Pinili, Ilocos Norte, was traversing towards south when Oasay lost control upon reaching a curve and rammed into the waiting shed before finally hitting the mango tress at the leftshoulder of the road.

LEGAZPI CITY -- A Philippine Navy gunboat rescued before dawn Saturday at least 123 passengers, mostly students, on board M/B Brian that encountered an engine trouble off Burias Island in Masbate, an official of the PN Naval Forces Southern Luzon (Navforsol) said.
PN gunboat PG 374 sighted M/B Brian floating about 300 yards northwest of Cueva point in Burias Island at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Navy Ensign Chibar Bullos, Navforsol spokesperson.
On board the motorized banca were a delegation of 100 elementary students and 18 teachers from the Claveria South District Schools and five crew members.

FLASH FLOODS and landslides displaced 1,252 families in the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur because of the continuous downpour spawned by Tropical Storm “Ofel.”
Army’s 1st Infantry Division spokesman Captain Alberto Caber said the families were evacuated to safer grounds as flood inundated Poblacion, Imelda town and Bula-an village, Buug town in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay on Wednesday.

THE Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) allocated a P4.5 million-worth bus to the Davao City Jail for the transport of inmates to and from court.
BJMP regional director, Senior Superintendent Amelia Talento, said the bus can be used in bringing prisoners to court for hearings or committing them to the Davao Penal and Prison Farm.

MANILA, Philippines—Local oil companies are to implement hefty rollbacks in the prices of petroleum products starting early Monday to reflect an equally drastic drop in the price of oil in the international market.
Effective 12:01 a.m. Monday (October 29), Petron Corp. will cut the prices of premium gasoline by P2.15 a liter, regular gasoline by P1.70 a liter, and diesel and kerosene by P1.35 a liter.

NAGA CITY, Philippines—The mayor of a Camarines Sur town was shot in the head by a lone gunman at 3:45 p.m. while at a service center in this city.
Lupi Mayor Raul Matamorosa was rushed to the Mother Seton Hospital, located just a few meters from where he was shot, and was fighting for his life at the intensive care unit, said Senior Police Officer Jose Luis Caparroso.

MANILA, Philippines—Between 9,000 and 10,000 chickens were roasted Friday when alleged communist insurgents torched the poultry farm of a businessman in Zamboanga del Sur who had supposedly refused to pay them protection money, the military said Saturday.
A statement issued by the Army’s 1st Infantry Division said the attack was carried out by the New People’s Army under the Mindanao Regional Party Committee, which had allegedly been demanding P60,000 monthly from poultry farm owner Onyx Go.

CEBU CITY, Philippines—A Korean and three Filipinos have been arrested for the alleged kidnapping of another Korean and his Filipino wife to force the couple to pay a P4-million debt.
Police are to file the kidnapping complaint on Monday against Song Sunghen, 33, who was arrested upon his arrival at Mactan Cebu International Airport past 1 a.m. on Thursday.
